Bat Boy: The (silly) Musical

G & I saw Bat Boy: The Musical, the Off Broadway show staged by TheatreWorks. It's been so successful, not only was the run extended by a week, but the show itself is being brought up to San Francisco for a five-week stay at The Marines Memorial Theatre.

And on the subject of musicals ...

A month ago I'd read that the actor who played the character Boq in the SF version of the musical, Wicked, had been replaced. Then another significant part was recast. Now, Joel Grey is set to replace Robert Morse in the featured role of The Wizard, a part I thought was weak the times I saw it. One big name for another, I hope Grey is able to make the character more interesting.
