Jan. 9th, 2006 12:45 pmI wanted to be all prepared for Dennis' aka BF '01's aka
tennis_bear's stay this week -- MacWorld -- but my clean-up schedule was messed up by the shelf/clothes rack in my one closet pulling off the wall and breaking. Waah! I'm so not the DIY homeowner, but I will have a project after Dennis leaves. Was only able to pick up and stack clothes and boxes elsewhere in my condo. Sigh. Lucky for me no wine bottles were broken as far as I can tell.
The bathroom sink was also stopped up/draining slow. I usually use the "vinegar and baking soda" method for unstopping drains, but it wasn't working well enough, so I went out on Saturday, after I retrieved Dennis from the airport, and got a more potent, but still environmentally-friendly, drain-opening chemical as well as a one of those cable/"snake" things. Used both and the drain is now unclogged, though Dennis vows to stop it up again before he leaves. Yippee.
Too much in my brain, getting all swirled around. I thought Kathy's Birthday Bash was this weekend. Slly me. I had driven over yesterday only to have Dean tell me I was early. Oh, well. Left Kathy's birthday present, declined the very nice dinner invitation and ran a few more errands.
At least Dennis got to eat at a couple of places he didn't get to the last time he was in town: Plearn (Thai) and Oakland Grill (American). Those of you who attend MacWorld will probably see him at the Freeverse Software booth.
