I took one shot -- my first using the timer on my camera -- and it came out okay. I'm especially happy because Worldcon is soon. Hope you're doing okay these days.

Eeee, so cute! What kind of snakes are they? The orange fellow in particular is very striking! Err, visually, I mean, not venomously I hope.

They are cornsnakes, two of the four I have. I've also got a kingsnake and two ball pythons. Definitely not venomous. Or even particularly bitey.

LOL - you know that I really had been thinking that I would post a picture with that line if I were you?! :oD

I'm not particularly skilled at dealing with digital photos/images. I was wearing a tank top that had "I Survived the Jurassic Park Ride at Universal Studios" and when I saw how the first part lined up, I cropped the lower part.

"I Survived (Snakes on a Joey)" -- hee!

May of last year, when I went on the three-week family leave to help my dad (which was great timing, as it turned out), I decided to let my facial hair grow out since I'd never done so for more than a week. I knew it would be patchy and kind of pitiful, but I figured I'd give it a chance. Kept it after I returned to work and have played with it ever since. The user pic I sometimes use (like in this response) was from the photo taken last year in September does show it a bit.

It's not the baby that hatched last year, but both are ones I got as babies a few years ago. The baby turned 1 earlier this month. Maybe I'll take a pic of it this weekend and post it or make it a user pic.

How beautiful! Both corn snakes? (Hard to tell with the albino.) I, of course, am partial to the amelanistic one. *grin*

Names?

From: [identity profile] trektone.livejournal.com
Yes, both are corns. I was told the orange-y one was a Pine Barrens. There is black so not an ame, but it doesn't show very clearly in this pic.

I got these and another albino/snow at the same time, several months after the passing of Anya/Ella (and Schokolade, an anery). At first I told myself I'd name them in a few months after I got to know them, but I think I was still affected by the deaths of the others so I didn't. My mom named the Pine Barrens "Gorgeous" so I kept that (LOL!) and the other one in the pic had the baby so I named her "The Momma."

Original, huh?

Hey, as long as you know who's who. It's not like they come when you call anyway!

"The Momma"? That makes me think of possibly the silliest episode of one of the silliest TV shows ever, "The Tomorrow People".

Great picture!

I've only seen a few ep's of that show. I thought they were fun and wanted to see more. Guess that series is finally on DVD.

Yeah, it is a fun show—but you really would have to be a major sf geek and/or a kid to think so, I suspect. The episode (or, I should say, the multi-ep story) with The Momma features Peter Davison (you know, the fifth Doctor, or Tristan on "All Creatures Great and Small") as an alien who's basically dressed as a go-go boy with a big silver afro. Oh, and he's obsessed with Earth westerns.

Wow! Gorgeous!! Are those your babies all grown up!??
I can't believe how pretty the colors on the reddish one are - post another so I can see more of a close up!

Maybe your snakes should meet my guinea pigs.

Or....

maybe not. ;-)

I'll post some close-ups after I return from Worldcon, okay?

As for a meeting of our pets: maybe if they're in their respective enclosures. :)
