Favorite Novel:
Last year was a tough one for me and I didn't read as much fiction as usual. At the top of my not-very-long list, though, is "Fledgling" by Octavia E. Butler and the runner-up, Tony Book 2
aka "Smoke and Mirrors" by Tanya Huff.

Favorite Concert:
The Erasure Show at The Independent in San Francisco in May. Or rather, both of the Erasure shows I saw. Wonderful! While it would've been great to see all five shows, the two I attended were fantastic. A DVD of the Cologne tour stop is waiting for me at the Virgin Megastore or somewhere else.

Favorite Play or Musical:
Wicked. No, Les Miz. No, Wicked. No, Les Miz. No, Wicked. Yeah, the touring company of Wicked. Yeah, Fiyero. Yeah.

Favorite CD:
Tie. The dreamy Kate Bush double-cd, "Aerial." The Cyndi Lauper "The Body Acoustic" even though some of the songs weren't. The Lauper-Sarah McLachlan version of "Time After Time" still makes me cry.

Favorite snake:
No, not really. I love all my snakes. All seven. The baby is still alive. Yay!

You have snakes?
Oh, that little one is wonderful, I love snakes! Is it an albino snake, it's so pale! The patterns on its back are beautiful!

Yes, 4 cornsnakes, 2 ball (royal) pythons and 1 black kingsnake.

Here's my initial post about the baby that's still alive:

Here's the one that shows the first baby (that died), the mother and the possible fathers:

Really beautiful animals! As I said, I like snakes. I like to touch their skin, so soft and warm. Once I met a guy in Bielefeld city who showed his corn snake around, I was allowed to hold it and the poor thing crept into my sleeve immediately, for it was much too cold for to hang around with a snake outside.

The snake is lovely! R wants a snake. I think we'd better stick with pig for now, our landlady was upset enough by a pig, a snake would freak her out for sure. :)

Fledgling is amazing. REally, I keep thinking about it so often. I think I'll be talking it up for use in High School to my peers that work with that age.

Re: Lauper, have I sent you the folk cover of Time After Time done by Judy Polan? It's quite sweet. If you can get an mp3 I'll send it.

I'd love to hear the McLaughlin/Lauper version, I bet it is gorgeous.
Hugs!

I've got no comments about the favorite media stuff since I've read none of the books, seen none of the plays/concerts, and listened to none of the CD's (except the gorgeous "The Body Acoustic") mentioned.

But I had to chime in on the snake pics... Why the nickel? It can't be to size the snake -- you've got normal size hands. *smile*

How pretty! :)
Adorable color and pattern :)
Reminds me that a member of our Trekdinner asked me to re-create his Dasypeltis website... He also has corn snakes plus a lot of other snakes. Very cool to touch them. Some of them, that is. Others were snapping (into the air, but still) - that makes me a little nerveous, even if I do know that they do not have teeth. ;)
