After taxes were completed on a friend's computer, then my powerbook came back w/a new hard drive (yay AppleCare warranty), and a few work tasks were completed, I'm feeling less stressed. I'm still getting my powerbook back to where it was, but am taking my time moving files, etc. since the tech support folks mentioned the possibility the data I did manage to retrieve might be corrupted.

And I'm posting this while on my usual commuter bus -- Wi-Fi was installed and actually works!

AC Transit, believe it or not! "Select" transbay buses (the big ones) recently got Wi-Fi. Tomorrow morning I'll see if the O (Alameda) Line has it.

(Btw, Muni doesn't have commuter service to Berkeley ...)

We must do dinner or brunch or something soon. Btw, the dim sum place I went to w/BF2007 was East Ocean, so I finally got there. Decent variety, would go again.

Well, Dining Out For Life is a week from tomorrow ... but as you know I prefer to avoid starting dinner after 7pm.

A car-less friend in St. Louis also bemoaned the state of public transportation in his/your city.

I rode in to work on a different commuter bus this morning, same transportation provider. The Wi-Fi was working on that bus, too.

It's pretty scary that you can now "work" while you're on the bus. Then again... I get motion sickness. hmmm I can't wait to throw up on my laptop... LOL
