So I still haven't opened the iPhone box.
However, I may be more troubled by having been dumped than I realize. Although I did have a few of these before "break-up day," in my freezer ...
green tea gelato - Marco Polo
arcobaleno (pistachio, almond, chocolate, vanilla) gelato - Marco Polo
blueberry ice cream - Double Rainbow
roasted peach ice cream - Three Twins (their stuff is organic)
lime sorbet - Three Twins
grapefruit campari sorbetto - Ciao Bella
blackberry cabernet sorbetto - Ciao Bella
fair trade chocolate gelato - Ciao Bella
lemon creme fraiche gelato - Ciao Bella
cherry garcia ice cream - Ben & Jerry's

Date: 2007-07-19 03:42 pm (UTC)Three Twins is both local and new-ish -- I get their stuff at my farmer's market.
Ciao Bella is local and supplies many fine restaurants in Northern California.
Marco Polo is a shop in San Francisco I've been going to for at least 15 years -- it's run by this Chinese man and his family. In addition to the typical gelato flavors, he also does "exotic" ones that are familiar to Asians: red bean, black sesame, soursop, durian, taro.
Double Rainbow is from San Francisco, but I thought they had national distribution.

Date: 2007-07-19 03:44 pm (UTC)Would you eat gelato flavors like soursop, red bean, taro, green tea, durian or jack fruit?

Date: 2007-07-19 06:03 pm (UTC)Actually they all sound pretty good. Except "soursop" what's that?
I'm filipino! We have CHEESE ice cream. I'd eat anything.
Except (Hagk!) eggplant. Ew.

Date: 2007-07-19 06:16 pm (UTC)Speaking of filipino foods, a filipino ex seems to have been on the finicky side compared with other filipino friends and acquaintances, although he was okay with eggplant. He really did not like dinuguan, balut or chicharon bulaklak. Do you love those?

Date: 2007-07-19 03:51 pm (UTC)I think it was coincidence I have so many. The roasted peach ice cream and lime sorbet were obtained on Saturday at the farmer's market I'd been missing because I usually spent Friday night through Sunday w/bf2007. My sis and I had taken mom to dr appts the week before in San Francisco and mom loves Marco Polo, so I happened to have gotten those then as the shop isn't convenient to my work location even though that's in SF, too. And the Ciao Bella story I told tennis bear.
My Fenton's sundae user pic brings back great memories!

Date: 2007-07-19 03:25 pm (UTC)As for the goodies in the freezer, several of them sound heavenly. Wish I could come out for a visit, but the next time I expect to be headed in that general direction is when I fly to Denver next summer.
Be well. Maybe make time/money for OVFF? Or FKO? We don't see enough of you east of the Rockies.

Date: 2007-07-19 04:37 pm (UTC)*composes self and returns to reality*
Please factor the ice cream into your calorie count for the day. When you eat it, please take time, like Chef from South Park says, let it make sweet love to you...for hours... (well, just savour it.)
The key is to take a loooong time to enjoy each spoonful..and just give yourself a little serving.
Then you're treating yourself, and not adding to your waste line.
People think I'm thin...but the change has come to me to too. So, please harken to me! I'm you're diet angel! ;)

btw, return the iPhone, a paperweight with a really cool screen is still just an expensive paperweight.
